forms and undertake a comprehensive safety induction. In consideration of our
schedules, please ensure that you are punctual. Arriving late will be deducted
from the time of hire. No shows will forfeit their deposit and monies paid. All listed passengers must embark and disembark the vessel from our berths. This is to ensure head counts and all passengers are present for the safety briefing.

Please be aware that the timely return of the Vessel is your responsibility, a late return fee will be charged at $55.00 per ½ hour increments. Grounding your vessel could result in costly recovery fees. You are responsible for any extra charges pertaining to vessel grounding/damage and recovery. These charges are outlined in our bond documentation.
Operation Area
Our Cruising grounds
extend from Hope Harbour Marina, along the Coomera River up to Sanctuary cove,
as far north as Tipplers Resort and as far South as the Western reaches of Wave
Break Island. A map will be provided with the operation area clearly marked.
Operating outside these areas at any time may result in the termination of the
hire. These rules are in place for your safety. Our boats are GPS tracked.
Alcohol & Drugs
Please be mindful that the legal limit to drive a boat is
the same as that of a car and is .05 and is enforced by police. The nominated
skipper on the day may not be under the influence of any illicit drug while in
charge of the vessel. Failure to obey the law, will result in loss of Bond and
termination of hire. Beverages brought onto the vessel must be a mix of
alcoholic and non-alcoholic types to demonstrate responsible consumption and
must be limited to reasonable amounts. Staff reserve the right to ask you to
return excess alcohol back to your vehicle. Also, please note that it is
prohibited to consume alcohol in a public place and therefore should not be
consumed when arriving at the marina, as this may result in termination of
hire.
The Hirer & Nominated Skippers
The Hirer must be 21+ years. The nominated skipper can be one person or more of your choosing but must be 18 years of age, or older. Some boating experience is an advantage, but not necessary, as we will offer basic training.
Security Bonds
A $600.00 bond is required on the day. Credit card details
will be collected before the hire commences. As a hirer of one of Gold Coast BBQ
Boat Hire vessels you are responsible for any damage to the vessel unless our
Insurance Policy covers the accident or loss of the vessel. In the case of a
successful insurance claim an excess of up to $1500 may still be payable. Please
be aware that some breakages may result in higher costs being charged. More
information is available on the Bond Authorisation Agreement Form. If you would
like a copy before the hire date, please let us know.
Safe operation of Vessel
A comprehensive safety briefing will be conducted prior to
vessel handover and covers the following subjects:
- Area of operation, including safe anchorages and boundary limitations.
- Safe handling of the vessel and all the equipment on board
- Maritime rules and regulations.
- Incident handling, Safety Operating Procedures and communication. The nominated skipper must have a good command of the English language and demonstrate a full understanding of Safety Briefing.
- Allowing the vessel to run onto a beach or sand bar, anywhere in or outside the cruising grounds or navigation channels comes with inherent risks. Please be aware that we do not recommend doing this at any time and could cause damage or return delays to the vessel.
- Attempting to tie up to pontoons or jetties is strictly prohibited.
- I understand that I will always be contactable by mobile phone during the vessel hire.
Children
The Law states that all children under 12 years of age life jackets whilst the vessel is in motion.
Wheelchair Access
We can provide wheelchair access to Sandy Toes (12-person
vessel) and FlameBoyant (10 person vessel) but it would require a conversation regarding this to ensure we can
meet your requirements.
Cancellation
Re scheduling of hire is permitted once free of charge with
a minimum of 14 days’ notice. Please be aware that we reserve our rights to
take balance payments at original booking times. Cancellation of hire for
reasons other than those instigated by us will result in loss of monies paid.
We will reschedule to a suitable and available alternate day. As the weather
can be unpredictable at times, we check forecasts on the morning of hire and
make determination to reschedule a hire at this time, with your safety in mind. If we deem the weather to be unfavorable or unsafe during your hire, we will contact you and request a timely return of the vessel.
Pets
Small to medium short haired dogs are welcome – life jackets
will be provided if required.
Fishing
All our vessels are perfectly set up for fishing but please do not put bait or fish on the seats or carpet as some species will stain the upholstery. We do not allow crab/fish pots on any vessel. Please be aware that there are a few eco-marine areas in the Broadwater that do not allow fishing within its boundaries. There is a bait board on the floor next to the tub. Do Not use the top cutting board for bait or fish. A bait board is supplied on the vessel.
PLEASE DO NOT PUT FISH IN THE SUPPLIED ESKY!
State of Vessel at time of return
We ask that you use the bin provided for all your rubbish
and you keep the vessel as tidy as possible. Please scrape the BBQ clean while it
is still warm. Please be mindful of the toilet and respect this facility. No
feminine hygiene or foreign product is to be placed in the toilet. A bin is
provided. We also ask that any accidents be cleaned up prior to return of
vessel. A blocked toilet caused by foreign objects or misuse will result in a
fee being deducted from your Bond.

similar vessel, if required.
